As the Director of the University of Piraeus’ MSc Program in Cybersecurity and Data Science for the 2021-2022 academic year, my goal is to ensure that enrolled students receive up-to-date education, advanced knowledge, practical skills, and cutting-edge research experience in the theories, technologies and applications of cybersecurity and data science.
Our team of instructors consists of highly experienced faculty, internationally recognized in the fields of Cybersecurity and Data Science, making a unique Program built upon the following pillars:
- Value equally both domain-driven and fundamental methodological research in two cutting-edge Computer Science fields: Cybersecurity and Data Science;
- Educate the next generation of experts in the intersection of the two fields: Cybersecurity experts with Data Science skills and vice versa;
- Explore the impact of the revolution of data and cybersecurity technologies on economics, business, health and transportation, as well as society at large by engaging with research partners within the University of Piraeus and beyond;
- Provide outreach to students and researchers at a variety of career stages.
Although our MSc Program has just been launched, we exploit on the extensive teaching and research experience of our team, which guarantees delivering of high-quality education at the highest standards. Our courses are also supported (in terms of TAs, infrastructure, etc.) by the affiliated research labs of the University of Piraeus, namely the Cyber Security Lab, the Data Science Lab, the Decision Support Systems Lab, the Embedded Systems Lab, and the Network Research Lab.
